Gimp: Red Eye Removal
The red eye effect is a common occurrence in photographs; camera's now have features to reduce red eye, such as flashing twice. However while camera's now make red eye happen less frequently, they still happen and you can easily fix it with Gimp. If you don't have Gimp already you may download it here.
